Which all OS does it support?

1) For participant: Windows Xp, Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, Windows
Server 2008 and MAC
2) For Host/broadcaster: Windows Xp, Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 and
Windows Server 2008

Which all web browser does it support?

1) All known web browsers supported

What are the required system specification for Vmukti Streaming?

1) For participant:
Minimum: 400 MHz CPU, 96 MB RAM, 800x600 256-color display, 500 MB or more
hard disk space
Recommended: 1.0 GHz or higher CPU, 256 MB or more RAM, 1024x768 high color
32-bit display, 1 GB or more hard disk space
2) For Host/broadcaster:
Minimum: 1.2 GHz or higher CPU, 512 MB or more RAM, 1024x768 high color
1 GB or more disk space
Recommended: 1.6 GHz or higher CPU, 1 GB or more RAM, 1024x768 high color
1 GB or more disk space

What are pre-requisites for VMukti Streaming?

1) For Viewer End:
Software Requirement
a) Adobe Flash Player 9.0 or higher plug-in
b) Microsoft silver light 3.0 plug-in
Internet Connection
a) Any type of internet connection minimum 100 kbps
b) If restricted network like proxy server then at list port 80 need
to be open which allows WMV, FLV content without any type of authentication
Hardware Requirement
a) Any video input (Webcam, professional cam, handy cam, PTZ etc, RC to USB converter inpur
or VMukti Broadcasting Device if professional camera is there) – For Interactivity purpose
b) Mike – For interactivity purpose
c) Audio output(head phone or speakers)
2) For Broadcaster End(Host End):
Software Requirement
a) .Net 2.0 or higher
b) VMukti Encoder
Internet Connection
a) Any type of internet connection minimum 100 kbps

What are the port to be open on firewall?

1) Port 80, In case of proxy server please ensure it allows flv and wmv content

Does it run on proxy?

1) Yes, please ensure it allows flv and wmv content

Does it run Multicast?

1) Yes, but, default mode is unicast to support streaming over Internet. With little
effort,system can switch to multicast

Does it run on V-sat?

1) Yes, it works on any Ethernet capable communication medium including V-sat, broadband,
data cards etc.

What are the ports to be open on V-sat?

1) As mentioned the whole solution works through port 80

What is the Bandwidth utilization for only Audio?

1) 8 to 30 kbps

What is the Bandwidth utilization for video?

1) It starts with 20 kbps to to 1.5 mbps, For batter quality recommanded bandwidth
100kbps or 225kbps

CPU utilization when in use?

1) For participant: 
2 to 6 % (With 1 video and 100kbps)
2) For host/broadcaster:
6 to 10 % (With 1 video and 100 kbps)
The numbers are benchmarked on Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz, 3 GB RAM

Memory utilization when in use?

1) For participant: 
40MB (1 video, 100kbps)
2) For host/broadcaster:
91MB (1 video, 100kbps)
The numbers are benchmarked on Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz, 3 GB RAM

Not able to see the video image?

1) Check the silver light 3.0 plug-in is installed
2) Make sure the Flash Player 9.0 or higher is installed

How to broadcast videos?

1) Browse URL http://stream.vmukti.com 
2) Log in / Register with the User Name & Password
3) Download & Install VMukti Broadcaster
4) Open VMukti Encoder
5) Specify Video Name
6) Specify the Audio & Video source
7) Select the available bit rates for streaming
8) For archive (record the Session) the streaming click on the archive & provide
the path for saving the video
9) Click on stream/stop button to start or stop the streaming
10) Wait until the message popup “Streaming Started
Successfully

How to make sure the streaming has started?

1) Go to http://stream.vmukti.com & check on video with the given video name 
2) The video will be Auto played
3) If the video is still not displaying contact us at support@vmukti.com

How to use Streaming Features of VMukti?

1) Log in / Register with User Name & Password 
2) Click on the name of the Live Video
3) Viewers can comment about their queries to the main portal
4) Host can upload presentation along with Prerecorded/Live video
5) Viewers can do live interactivity with the host of same video with "Raise hand" functionality.


Cannot able to See the Video / Audio Device

1) Right click on the box & click on the settings 
2) Select video & audio device
3) Click on allow & remember option
4) To reduce echo tune up your sound & click on cancellation of Echo

How to upload prerecorded video?

1) Log in / Register with User Name & Password 
2) Click on upload button
3) Specify Title, Description and Tags of Video
4) Select video Type as "Recorded"
5) After filling all input of required fields, click on "Submit video" button.
6) After submitting video, it will automatically be redirected to the main portal page.

How to upload presentation?

1) Log in / Register with User Name & Password 
2) Click on upload button
3) Specify Title, Description and Tags of Presentation
4) Select video Type as "Presentation"
5) After filling all input of required fields, click on "Submit video" button.
6) After submitting video, it will automatically be redirected to the main portal page.

How to relate presentation with video?

1) Log in / Register with User Name & Password 
2) Click on the "My Account" button placed on top right corner
3) Click on "My Videos"
4) Click on the "Edit" button below the video
5) Select the presentation for option "Relate Media" and click on Submit Button

How to Enable the Feature of Public & Private video?

1) You can do the broadcasting by selecting the private and public option. 
Public video will available for all the users who can browse the URL
2) While private videos are available for the users who logged in with his
assigned username and password.

How can I Post Comment?

1) Log in / Register with User Name & Password 
2) Click on the video name and you can able to see the message box,
3) Write your message and click on Post Comment.

What is the best possible way to do the live interactivity?

1) Passing online message using message board
2) If possible then start allowing viewers for interactivity once the session
completed.
3) When the viewers will click on raise hand button, you can able to see “ABC has
a query“ You need to click on the green button if you

How can I interact with tutor?

1) You can pass a text message 
2) Another way is “Raise Hand“. You can click on the raise hand button, if the tutor
will allow your query then both of you are in the interactivity module. If tutor will
not allow you, then you can’t interact, pass your message with message box

How can I ignore student’s query?

1) When you can see student query on interactivity module, just press the RED 
disallow button.

How can I disconnect any started video interactivity?

1) Just press the disconnect button. By pressing disconnect the video should be 
stopped at both end.
